Confidence Building
Many people do not have confidence in themselves in certain situations. This lack of confidence in one situation can quickly develop into a general lack of confidence in other areas of life, leading to a reduction in self-esteem.
Confidence starts in childhood. If we develop confidence as a child, encouraged, supported, guided and involved, we can bring that ‘confidence’ with us into adulthood. If you were not a confident child then it is likely you will not be a confident adult. YOU CAN CHANGE THIS.
Confidence is about two things, your belief system and your knowledge or skill to perform a given task.
The key to confidence is your belief system. If you can feel good about yourself, love yourself, feel valued and respect yourself, then you will have confidence to take risks and take on challenges to gain new knowledge and skills. Trying to gain new knowledge and skills when you do not feel good about yourself, when you do not love yourself, when you do not value or respect yourself, is almost impossible, because your behaviour is controlled by your belief system, and your belief system will stop you from trying.
