This programme is essentially a programme to aid any person
who would benefit from help with regard to improving
concentration and ability to focus.
Mind For Life have developed a unique and innovative active programme that educates and stimulates constructive thinking, and provides a powerful technique to eliminate and reduce negative thoughts. The programme is non-invasive and includes computerised EEG Biofeedback and Food Intolerance testing, resulting in a significant change in concentration, focus and behaviour. The programme is applicable to people of all ages and is relevant in various disciplines and areas of life including; improved focus, concentration, attention and behaviour in academic situations; improved focus and concentration in the performing arts and music arena; can provide an aid to relieving pain, anxiety and stress.
- The unique programme includes a new development in advanced computer technology brainwave interface.
- It strengthens the ability of the brain’s ‘attention network’ to sustain focused attention.
- The programme provides measurable results.
- Enables participants to pay more attention in class or work environment.
- Has the potential to improve grades.
- Can reduce the stress and anxiety involved in study, academic testing or work demands.
- Can reduce impulsive and hyperactive behaviour.
What is computer assisted learning?
Computer Assisted Learning (also known as EEG Biofeedback, Neurofeedback or Brain Wave Training) is a non-invasive, drug-free effective way to create healthy patterns of brain function.
Sensors placed on the scalp allow the natural activity of the brain to be electronically recorded and analysed by a computer. The student hears a tone and the computer screen changes to indicate how well the brain is succeeding in achieving the particular brain wave state it has been asked to maintain. Healthy brain wave patters are closely related to healthy mental and behavioural states.
Since the brain can be quickly trained to regulate itself, habitual brainwave patterns that cause harmful behaviours and emotions can be replaced by balanced and healthy brainwave patterns which then affect behaviour in a constructive way.
Computer Assisted Learning helps people improve their health by using signals from their own bodies. Just like the muscles in your body can be trained, so can the brain. Through Computer Assisted Training many mental and physical disabilities, addictions and negative habits have been improved, frequently without medication.
During Computer Assisted Learning no signals are fed into the brain. The system does not read thoughts and can not change beliefs; the process is completely painless.
Mind For Life does not support or reject any of the benefits or side-effects of any prescribed medication. We are a people-centred organisation and recognise that for some people, pharmaceutical intervention may be beneficial. We believe however, that the amount of time a person continues medication should be limited, and that alternative methods of intervention should always be explored. Results include:
Improved attention and learning
Improved grades
Improved classroom behaviour
Reduced suspension rate
Reduced absenteeism
A happy school and home environment
A healthier diet
A more focused and engaging individual
An opportunity to succeed
The procedure will not identify whether a person is taking drugs. EEG Biofeedback is not a cure for any specific condition; it is a technique which teaches self-regulation of brainwave patterns. The conditions cared for with EEG Biofeedback all have underlying irregularities of brain function. By helping people learn to regulate and balance their brainwave patterns, the symptoms of these imbalances usually diminish. This alleviates some of the more extreme behavioural problems and lessens the severity and duration of episodes, thereby increasing the client’s capacity to learn. It is not a medical procedure because it is drug-free and non-invasive and is considered ‘alternative’.
